    what does this mean? i looped and beat it it again (buzzy beetles instead of goombas) and it didn't pop.

    This achievement is not clear, can you just go to 8-1 and beat it or start all over?

    Well it worked for me, I did the second quest from the beginning, and no worries if you are Game Over you will start with the beetles.

    Completed the game, then selected world 8-1 on the title screen, went through to the end and popped fine.

    Hint, you can use B to go to world 8 on the title screen (after already beating the game) and then complete the 4 levels and the achievement still pops.
