I got this from the hoarder near the entrance to death mountain by the dudes sawing the tree. Grab 5 green rupees from him before he disappears and he will drop a red rupee.

I tried both the one near the Desert and the one inside the Lost Woods, neither seem to work.

Okay so the trick is that you need to get the five rupees in quick succession, if at any point more than 2 or so seconds pass the "combo bonus" that leads to the red rupee being dropped resets.

I got it to drop the rupee but i didnt get the pop. death mountain entrance.

The hoarders hiding in big rocks apparently don't work. Try those hiding in small rocks/bushes.

The Bush hoarders in the woods dont work. ive gotten a red rupee from both and neither made it pop.

The achievement is actually unlocked when the red rupee appears on screen, you don't even need to pick it up. At least that's what happened to me.

Try the small rock hoarder near the "mute" guy. That one worked for me.

By the way, correcting a few statements above. You have 3.2 seconds before hoarder will disappear since he's dropping the first rupee. You need to collect 6 rupees in that time and have a little time remnant (a few frames) to make him drop the 7th rupee. If you do everything right, 7th rupee will be red.
