In NG+, you can bring over 6 pokemon from your save file for your new run and they retain their EVs, IVs, natures, held items, and any egg moves, and get reverted to their base form at level 10. However, most legendaries have a pretty decent movepool to start and absolutely destroy most of the early and midgame without much effort. So, I elected to carry over 5 legendaries and Honedge, who's basically a legendary in this game since it retains its Gen 7 base stats.

Here's the team I ran through the entire insane mode ng+ playthrough up to this point.

And a rundown for why I chose each mon:

Primal Groudon: One of the best pokemon by far for this run. He starts with Lava Plume and Earth Power, and while those are special moves, he still obliterates the first gym with just Lava Plume alone. He also gets EQ at level 27. Brick Break was strictly for the Dynamax Hoopa fight as it kills 2 bars of DMax shield.

Primal Kyogre: Another obviously broken pokemon. There's a lot of areas in this game with Permanent Rain and Kyogre is the best pokemon to take advantage of it, especially in Gym 7.

Rayquaza: Banned from Ubers for a reason. You can get Dragon Ascent as early as before the *second* gym with a heart scale, and once you're able to mega evolve him he gets even stronger. To be fair, he was actually the least used pokemon on the team, as there isn't a lot that necessarily needs flying coverage.

Xerneas: Power Herb + Geomancy is insanely powerful but he doesnt have this combo of moves until level 60. That doesnt really matter though because that's what he was chosen for, as Jax's Mega Rayquaza is a huge pain otherwise.

Celesteela: Stall King. Absolutely necessary for the GMax Hoopa fight.
    Same with...

Aegislash: King's Shield is one of the most broken moves in the game, and with all the forced double battles against legendaries, he almost feels required for a lot of battles.

mywifeleftm, you're a hero, I've been using your team the whole game and it's been relatively painless (except for Gmax Hoopa and Benjamin Button, every other fight was pretty easy even on insane).

It's worth noting that you only have to beat the champion on insane for this achievement, you can beat the rest of the Elite Four on Vanilla and then switch to insane if that's easier.
    mywifeleftm 21 Aug 2023 23:28
Yep. The GMax Hoopa was the only fight on the entire insane mode playthrough that gave me any trouble. It probably took more tries than anything else combined.
    mywifeleftm 21 Aug 2023 23:30
I didn't have brick break on Groudon at first, and I beat the fight within 2 attempts after doing so. Breaking those shields matter so much.

Mywifeleftm’s team works very well for a large part of this challenge, however just to warn others, I’m not sure what they did for these battles, but Mel and Tessy completely wall this entire team. You can skim by the rest fairly easily, but these two leaders just destroy every pokemon here.
But since it’s NG+ there are guides out there to help with these gyms on insane, and with all the EV and move trainers out there in NG+ it’s easy to build up these ‘moms to help with these gyms. Just be sure to carry over a hefty sum of BP to help
    JRodslegend 27 Dec 2023 03:38
For reference the guides I used for these two involves Gallade for Mel and Slurpuff for Tessy
    mywifeleftm 30 Dec 2023 17:29
I didn't really do anything different for those two gyms. The power disparity between my uber mons and their teams means I was able to brute force basically every fight on Insane with only a few tries.
