@Manufacturer it's honestly not impossible to win 5 balloon battle games, I got it on my first playthrough. The only thing you have to keep an eye on is the opponent points. I got Peach with 4 pts. when I had only 3 so I had to chase her every battle until I won (tbh it was fun hahah). The problem for me is that this cheevo is only 5 points while it can take hours to get. 3 battles would be enough imo.

Holy shit I did it. At some point I was 1x4 against Mario, had to hunt him a lot. Some tips that those that don't do baloon battle will appreciate: Always try to hit other racers when you have a mushroom, you will steal one of their baloons. Holding select will fill one extra baloon for you (you have a few in reserve in the beginning of the battle). Always leave fake item boxes and bananas on bridges, over regular item boxes or on narrow passages, the other races fall for that. Good luck, it is a PITA.

Got this after 14 rounds.. 5 points certainly feels like too little but imo this set has too many points so :') glad these two cheevos were added, forgot about mkds battle mode

This isn't so bad once you realize you don't have to have 5 consecutive wins. You can lose as many times as you want as long as you get to 5 wins before the other CPU.

I understand why this is an achievement since it's a game mode and it's fair that it's represented here... But holy smokes is this game mode unfun.

I too get why this is an achivement, however I found it incredibly un-enjoyable, its easily the least enjoyable achievement in the set.

As noted in another comment, just cheese tight spaces, beyond that pray heavily and pray often to the RNG god.

This achievement was really difficult to unlock and it was by far my least enjoyable. The problem wasn't the Balloon Battle mode itself, but the fact that it felt like the CPU opponents were constantly firing items at you and you were somehow playing 1vs7.
But it feels all the better now to have achieved this.

Fortunately, 5 wins in a row were not necessary. Otherwise I would certainly be trying forever.

something weird i did to help me win. i disabled the top screen and played only on bottom screen, it helped to see everyone's items, locations and distances. also tart top is the easiest level to win on

Holy shit this is cancer. How I did it was get my balloons up (Press and hold select) and just play defensively. You will get it eventually but my god it is not fun at all. And like how others were saying this is not a 5 point achievement at all.
