I did this achievement after many hours of trial and error, I had to tweak the setup a lot of times, but I think the real game changer was the gear setup. I've managed it in 6'33.749, far from the "optimal" time, so I really think it's more a matter of keeping the car from spinning rather than doing a good lap, and it was a real pain because of both understeering and oversteering.
Here's my setup if it can be useful to anyone, but by all means try to modify it to fit your driving style, even a little change may make a big difference:

Brake Balance 2 - 1 (9 - 4 is also good, but less reliable imo)
Spring 12.0 - 9.0 (maybe even softer would be better?)
Ride Height 105 - 90
Bound 6 - 5
Rebound 5 - 3
Toe -2 / +3 (change this before anything else if you find it uncomfortable, it gives the car understeering)
Stabilizers 1 - 3
Transmission (gear trick with Auto 1): 2.544, 1.984, 1.522, 1.199, 0.916, Final 2.500 (5th gear may be optimized)
Downforce: 25 - 35
LSD: 20 - 50 - 5

I installed the body rigidity upgrade, but I didn't bother trying without it.

Don't get me wrong, but in softcore mode you don't need a setup.

With a time of 6'29.984, I can say that I find this setup useful in hardcore mode too lol
It was a lot harder to control the throttle and everything and required many hours, but it's still very satisfying.

As a note, I felt that without the body rigidity upgrade it spins way less often, and I raised the LSD to 20 - 52 - 5, the rest of the setup remains the same.

Legitimately the most fun challenge of the whole set, if you like spending time fine tuning your car, that is.

Figuring out the setup that fits your style better is 70% of the fun in this.

The car was originally developed from the Auto Union Grand Prix cars to set speed records. As a result it was only ever designed to run in a straight line. Also suXin edited this cheevo's logic on october 3rd 2023. I wonder why...

suXin had found an exploit with setup B/C. He changed the logic of all achievements so that none of them would pop with setup B/C, afaik.

Finally beaten it... was it worth the pain and frustration? No it wasn't... in my honest opinion, this is one of the worst achievements I've ever had the chance to complete, as it's a serious case of gatekeeping from the actual mastery of the set.

I've played Gran Turismo PSP's achievement set, and I'll give that set creator credit... at least they accepted the faults in some of their achievements and have actually made them more accessible to everyone, or fixed them due to being not possible. This feels like one of those achievements that should've been part of a "Subset" called "Time Trial Master", where you take on difficult Time Trial combinations as part of an OPTIONAL set.

But I'm just one person out of 4000+ players who have attempted this set, and one of 35 (as of this comment) who have completed it. My opinion likely doesn't matter, but I feel many players would likely agree in saying that this achievement needs reworking or scrapping.

Acredito que a palavra que define essa conquista seria masoquismo. Simplesmente colocaram um ,senão o pior carro do jogo, no circuito mais dificil e ainda com desafio de tempo. O mais frustrante é vc ser obrigado a andar no limite, num ritmo forçando ao maximo o carro, em uma condição que não permite erros. E quando eu digo erros, não são coisas como errar totalmente um ponto de freada por exemplo. voce entrar numa curva de media ou alta um pouquinho acima da velocidade, vc dar um toquinho no volante ou no freio no meio de um trecho com muita irregularidade na pista, entre outras coisas simples que outros carros permitem que vc corrija, mas com esse lixo de carro um erro minusculo ja faz ele rodar e vc perder a volta, e combinando isso com um desafio de tempo que vc é obrigado a andar no limite isso se torna uma experiencia extremamente frustrante .

Acredito que esse é aquele tipo de conquista que a galera coloca só para afastar os jogadores e impedir que pessoas platinem o game, para assim ficar naquela condição onde só os jogadores extremamente viciados no game consigam. Tornando assim platinar esse jogo como algo exclusivo, que somente poucas pessoa conseguem fazer.

Se algum dia ajustarem essa conquista, quem sabe colocando um tempo um pouco maior eu volte aqui, mas nesse estado atual não acho que vale a pena gastar tantas horas e ficar passando tanta raiva nisso aqui.

I even tested the siphon setup, but it didn't work for me. The car becomes extremely difficult to control in high-speed curves and on sections with lots of undulation. I made some adjustments but something was always missing, there was always a part of the circuit where it was very difficult to drive the car or I ended up wasting a lot of time having to drive slowly to avoid spinning.

The car's one of those that suffers the issue of its rears rapidly losing and regaining grip at high speeds, no matter the setup it just felt like one wrong sneeze and it oversteers right off into the grass. It'd probably help if Polyphony let us tune the camber settings on the suspension >_>

At some point I just gave up and used ASM oversteer to make sure the car behaved, my overall setup was this (NTSC-U):

Spring Rate - 7.2 / 6.0
Ride Height - 85 / 100

Shock / Dampers (Bound) - 2 / 2
Shock / Dampers (Rebound) - 5 / 5

Toe Angle - 0 / 0
Stabilisers - 6 / 7

Brake Balance - 3 / 1

Downforce - 25 / 35

LSD Initial Torque - 55
LSD Acceleration - 35
LSD Deceleration - 60

ASM Oversteer - 15 (but can turn it down if it's too aggressive)
ASM Understeer - 0 (do NOT have this set above 0 if using ASM Oversteer, it'll make the problems worse)
TCS - 1

No Increase Rigidity upgrade (it does not work as intended, the car imo feels looser with it bought).

It becomes rather understeery but honestly preferable to it spinning out when you touch the steering at the wrong moments.

Azullia's setup is very good. In my case I modified it a bit. I put:

Driving aids:

ASM Oversteer - 1 (you can try with 0 if you are confident)
ASM Understeer - 0
TCS - 1.

I almost forgot, you can also shorten the gear ratio.

Put final to 5.000, then auto to 3, then set final in 2.950.

after this set the gears :

1- 2.385
2-1.745
3-1.270
4-1.015
5-0.838

This can make the car more agile when cornering, without skidding as much and reducing the chances of a spin.

Another small tip is to pay attention when the red speedometer light flashes when the engine is at low rotation. This indicates the unevenness of the road, a few light touches on the brake while accelerating can reduce the chances of losing control. The same before entering and exiting uneven curves. If you've raced Formula GT in A-Spec at Nurburgring you'll probably understand.
