Is it okay to reload a previous save while the challenge was still active?

Shouldn't be. You may have found an exploit actually, because jumping between save games is not intended. I'll look into it.

I got it without needing to thankfully. Pyramid Head had me concerned with that 1HKO. This was a pretty creative one. I'm liking the set. It was cool to think about when I needed to reset the timer :)

As soon as you pick up the Flashlight in Wood Side apartments room 205 the timer starts to run. You have up to 12 seconds of "battery time". Whenever a monster dies, your "battery" is recharged to 12 seconds.

Your goal is to reach the back alley by leaving the apartments right after PH battle without running out of time.

You need to figure out when to enable the Flashlight and which monsters and when to defeat. The time when the light is needed the longest is the Old Coin puzzle. You should kill a monster before doing that and leave someone nearby to reset the timer after solving it.

There is no Action Level requirement for this achievement. Take note that easier difficulties have less monsters which means less chances to reset the timer, and it may make this challenge harder.

Ya tenía todo para completar este logro, ya había derrotado a Piramid Head y justo cuando le doy la vuelta para que Piramid baje por las escaleras, James se atora en una esquina y Piramid logro darle un cuchillazo ocasionando mi muerte y regresando al principio de los aparatos, me sentí realmente en shock

this one became very easy when learnt the apartments;
Familiarise your self with the route through the apartments, and kill the enemies accordingly

a few thing note.
1. you need your light to pick up items
2. you need you light to open locked doors
3. after some cut scenes your light will turn on so be ready to turn it off. I found this specifically with the clock key in the moth room
4. solving the key puzzle is rather finicky, so Id suggest going in with 0% in that room
5. you can pause and turn the light on in your inventory screen to use keys & the coin puzzle
6. I would suggest only going for key items, this will mean you have time PH out at the end but yeah just don't get hit because he does massive dmg with the great knife.

Just to clarify something which wasn't mentioned in the comments so far and may or may not be obvious: the timer only resets if the 12s aren't yet over. If you reach 0 at any given moment throughout the apartments, the achievement is voided and needs to be started over again.

Can I get it without ever using the flashlight? I wanted to spend the entire game without a flashlight, a personal challenge... Will it work?

You can not advance the story without obtaining the flashlight. Also James can not interact with puzzles or pick up or use key items in the dark, along with inability to read the map. Without light his accuracy with guns sucks even more than usually and auto-lock on enemies is disabled, I believe.

So I will only use it to solve puzzles, when a monster appears I will illuminate it for a moment just to attack it correctly and it really won't take me long on the puzzles, I already know them well. It will be very easy since I play on the maximum difficulty and enemies plague the hallways so there is too much time.

There are 2 instances when you have to be careful because the flashlight turns on automatically. After sticking the hand in the hole and after Eddie
