grinded this for like 2 days, had all perfect shifts and was in first place, somehow totaled my car by hitting the wall like 5 pixels away from the finish like FUCK THIS GAME AAAAAAAAAA

S2000 seems to be best choice when going for this one, the timing window for perfects seemed way easier for me

can someone tell me why the achievement doesn't work for me? I've tried 2 options.

5 times perfectly shifted and won (without a perfect start)

and 6 times perfectly shifted (with perfect start)

it says there too 6/6 100%

but the achievement just doesn't work for me, I had the achievement clipped on twitch too

Sorry, MegaxLP, after looking into it, there was an issue where the achievement may not be awarded if playing in a language other than English. I've corrected the logic.

Please note, the perfect shift at the start of the race is required.

Yeah, this was pure pain. Mostly hitting the perfect shift in the beginning was aids.

If it helps anyone, S2000 felt the easiest to get the perfect shifts. I didn't test out all of the cars though. I went Miata for everything else in this set but had to switch for this.

I did it on the very last drag race (Commercial Reverse) with traffic off for 3 reasons.

1. This game has slight slowdown in the beginning for me if I did the drag races in the city, no matter what settings/camera I chose.

2. The start of the race doesn't have a slope to mess with me and the CPU didn't really bother me when it came to shifting gears in this race.

3. This race is easily winnable imo because if you hold down the throttle while doing jumps near the end of race, you always get a burst of speed over the CPU to win. Not the ramps in the middle of race, but the uphill slopes near the end. Maybe I got lucky numerous times but winning was not an issue for me.

This was my last cheevo.
My strategy was:

-S2000 (full lvl3 upgrades) [Thanks @ThePixelJunkie , got it in less than 20 tries. ]

-Commercial Reverse

-Set launch in the perfect zone with the right stick. [Thanks @VirtualStrider]

Also, if you are doing the perfect shifts, but losing the race, TAP (not hold), but TAP (fast) the L1 for the nitro burst effect. The explanation to this is that the accel. gained by the first burst is faster than the rest of the effect. So tapping fast makes you reach the top speed faster.
