Doubt anyone's had trouble with this one, but if you are, get to the farm in 1-1. Once there, wipe out all the enemies, and leave through the door you came from. Get a one minute timer ready, go back through the door, and start the timer. Apparently, within the first minute you enter a room with chickens, they'll most likely lay eggs within that one minute. After the one minute, see if they laid any eggs, and pick them up. If they didn't lay a golden egg or any eggs at all, rinse and repeat. Leave where you came from, enter back, start the timer. Took me about 6 tries, but this is how I got this achievement.

Maybe it's just me imagining things, but I feel like there's also a more likely chance chickens will lay eggs when you're looking away from them, and maybe even more likely when you're farther away from them.

dang it i got incredibly lucky i was in 1-1 on my very 1st playthrough just killed 2 enemies and a gold egg was just lying in front of me to the right where i was standing what luck. never found as gold egg that fast in my entire life and in my 20 plus years playing this game found it immediately after the village raid in like 1 minute after entering door
