I was only able to get this achievement (and Over Before It Began) to trigger by creating and deleting a helper within the same level first. When I did it with no helper from the start, it failed to trigger.

So uuuh, what I discovered is that, you need to use the last level of the Mike ability, and ONLY that one on Kracko, them kill him without ability. This is how I unlocked.

You have to use the third stage of mic on Kracko, then beat him without any partner or ability.

For anyone still having trouble getting the achievement, just to be safe I didn't use any helpers or any abilities through out spring breeze up until that point. "loud scream" (The third attack) can be used at any point during the fight as long as it hits. After that you can just defeat it normally (I beat it by spitting a waddle doo back at it)

i losed the Mike ability in boss fight, i beated it with the Waddle Doo's, and the achievement popped lol

Make sure to not use any Ability or Helper except the Mike.

Here's what I did:

Didn't use abilities or helpers at all during Bubbly Clouds (though I did that part on accident, I just didn't need them)

Just before Kracko's fight there's a giant wall of breakable blocks, with the Mike enemy walking around in front of it. Break a path through the wall for you to go through, then Copy the Mike enemy to get the ability. I broke through the wall first because I didn't want to accidentally use the ability while breaking through the wall. Go through the wall, dodge the annoying flower guys and enter the door at the top right. Once in Kracko's room, wait for the fight to start, then use the Mike ability all three times. It has exactly three charges, and is exactly enough to defeat the boss. You shouldn't need to attack him at all outside of the Mike ability.
