Just use the Fire Rod for the first part and then as always the Cane of Byrna, together with the Tampered Sword and 1/2 Magic Meter. This one took me two Magic Medicines (green bottle liquids).

it's a little late, but I can do you one better. use bombos to one shot the first phase. then either cane of byrna or the cape. I used the latter. kill him before even ran out of magic.

not missable since you can use the mirror to go back to the entrance and refight it

randresen77 it is missable because if you kill the boss without doing it damagelss, the only way to get another try is to start a new save file.

The very top of the room is a surprisingly safe place here. The falling ice won't spawn any projectiles on landing (though you still have to not let it land directly on you) and Kholdstare doesn't tend to hang out up there very much. Stay up here until you see an opening and retreat here if things get dicey. This fight doesn't have to be a dodge-fest.

Actually way easier than I thought. Got it first attempt. Watch for the ice shadows and get way out of the way. The rest is easy avoidance and fire rod spam. Best paired with the fire rod only achievement. Bring a green potion for that.

On paper this would be a nice challenge if you could retry the boss immediately.

But here you have to every time walk back through that stupid dungeon to retry which is a big chore.

I practiced this with save states because it is the only sane way and can consistently can pull it of. But then when go through the dungeon i always screw it up.

I really really hate having 15 mins for the next try.

Really baffles me that for stuff like this devs think its ok to make a cheevo.

Pro tip. Do Misery Mire first so you get Cane of Somaria. You can shortcut the tedious last part in the dungeon were you need to throw the block from the top by just use your block.
