I think you can go back. Except I think once you reach Tower of Babel, you can't go back then.

a possibility to go back from tower of babel is a place before you go ti final boss xD but you can travel back from Dao to Angel's City. Other places like Mines or Ican Ruins are no more possible

Once you become Freedan you can pretty much clear the whole screen using the upgraded Dark Friar. You can also use it to kill enemies indirectly without aggroing them.

try several times, because this achievement has to be obtained the first time, you can't go through the mountain temple and then go back to the mountain temple and try after it has already been passed.
Watch this MOUNTAIN TEMPLE video and as soon as you get to the screen where you have the TEAPOT item, the achievement appears

You don't need to do this on your first attempt, just make sure to go into all rooms before the final room, and it will unlock.
