Save the 1up under the water in Winter for last, you cannot make it to safety in time before you die. I made the mistake to get it 2nd to last and I had to start over again.

So for the under the ice one, I found a glitch that allows you to clip through the ice at a certain spot near the ramp wall. Keep swimming into the ice and you'll just go on through.

For the one up under the ice its intended that you stop at the beaver's home for air before returning to the water when going both ways, there is also a glitch where you can clip through the ice via a ramp near the life. There is a video showing it.

I started from Gnawty's house and still didn't have time to get the 1-up under the ice and make it back (to Gnawty's) before running out of breath.

I'm very glad I saw the suggestion from CassetteCobra to save that 1-up for last. That warning also caused me to make sure I finished collecting the notes before going under the ice.
