To do this, you just need to raise Shuckie's friendship level as you would any other Pokemon (walking, leveling, haircuts, etc.)

After you've spent time doing that, **save your game** and return to Kirk, the owner. When he asks for you to give Shuckie back, say Yes. If he keeps him, you need to reset and raise it more. If friendship is high enough, he'll then say you can keep Shuckie.

yeah for sure, i had to reset my game because i gave it back to the owner to early and i could not get him back. [m] for sure

Hint: Talk to the woman in Goldenrod and if she says "It’s friendly toward you. It looks sort of happy.", you'll keep the Shuckle.

Restarted the game for a 3rd time and still cant get neither this one nor the sleeping headbutt pokemon achievments.

Like you I didn't get the headbutt one or this one so I made a ticket and got told how currently RAVBA has problems.
I got them both by loading the game and my save on gambatte on Retroarch.

i'm having the same issue, i am now using gambatte but i would have to restart the whole game. how do I load one of the saves i already have from the RAVBA emulator?
