Got it on the 8th reset (5 of those resets due to Nick) doing the Repel Trick and a Venonat.

Use a max repel before saving, use a level 16 mon. Make sure Nick is not here, it's an instant game over. Barry, green guy at the right near the exit is very rarely beaten too. William, old man at the top left can often kill the run too. Catch level 16 Venonat, if these three aren't here, you are almost sure to win if Cindy does not catch her butterfree or other getting lucky.

Venonat is the best mon to use for this achievement due to it having the best base stats of all the Pokemon. Max level for it is 16. Even when doing the math for all the other mons, Vanonat still comes out far ahead. The only thing that might make this difficult is the DVs of the Pokemon. You need decent DVs to score a win.

This was the absolutely woooorst!!! I had over 50 retries and I just couldn't win no matter how many level 16 Venonats and level 18 Kakunas I caught! Hell, the first time I caught a level 16 Venonat I didn't even place third!! In the middle of trying to get this achievement I decided to break up the monotony and try to get the achievement for winning the contest with Nick present instead...got that one first try. lol

It's funny how many level 14 Scythers and Pinsirs you meet before ever running into a level 16 Venonat. I still think the level 18 Kakuna only exists in legend. Got lucky with how few attempts this took me: one morning Nick and Barry happened to be absent, I grinded for the Venonat, and I won with a wide margin.

when starting catching content, if you dont encounter a cooltrainer, consider yourself lucky. the rest 7depends on your luck. however, i caught pokemon a level 17 paras and achieved the top ranked.

I agree with other that the achievement badge should be a Venonat, the lvl 18 cocoon mons rarely got more than 300 points, not even the mythical lvl18 Kakuna nor the elusive lvl 17 Paras won me the contest, it was my third lvl 16 Venonat who won me this "achievement".

i caught 5 level 15 venonat looking for a level 16 one, and when i finally caught it it turns out i won by almost 40 points meaning i probably could have just entered with one of the level 15s and won

Got this on my 10th try with a level 17 Metapod. When getting this achievement, make sure neither Cooltrainer Nick or Pokéfan William are competing cause their catches will always net the most points.

Basically just scout for Nick, William and Barry and should be a easy win with lvl 16 Venonat
