It's just really keeping up with the ring counter while going fast. Dodge his flying projectiles when possible

If you are having trouble with this, jumping and keeping up with ring counter is key! On the last round, I actually just collected every single ring I missed equaling up to 70 rings and got it at 62 rings very easy with this method!

Collected all the rings I could on the first 3 hits. Then the final 3 I focused on just hitting Chaos. I even missed a hit once by going too slowly and still made it in time!

wasnt very hard, but wasnt easy. Those red shots chaos shoots are pain in the ass in second phase, also remember to not homing attack, it makes you slower and you loose a ring, no idea why it is even there

Ohhhh...... oh. You literally 'go faster' if you jump, but slow down if you homing-jump like the main game teaches you to use to go faster. I thought you HAD to hit every speedbooster to get and keep speed, but all you have to do is jump a few times and you can reach blue "lightning bolt" speed just by normal-jumping even well after the final speedbooster of each section.

If you're like me and are bad enough at the fight that you game over from restarting, HIGHLY recommend beating a level after the flashback cutscenes. Watching 90% of Super Sonic Story every 5 lives is more grueling than the fight itself.
