This achievement will be in my nightmares. The number of times i was like 5~3m from the fish to just lose my control 2 to 4 times in a row with that same bubble sound effect. Dude, it's just painful. Finishing this cheevo or not, i will never drink water or eat fish ever again. They will give me dark memories for a long, long time.

This one was VERY annoying with the big fish constantly resisting my catch. The only way to get over 2000g is by getting a large blue metal fish that resembles a Piranha. If the fish in question is as large as Big's torso, then that's the one you want.

The best way to get this fish is by getting close to it in the water so at minimum the distance between you and it is 5-7 meters. That way you can quickly catch it without it running miles away from you and wasting a lot of your time.

To get a guaranteed catch. Tap down and press A on the controller to catch them.

This one was bad, but a small praise for it in that it doesn't have that annoying disappearing fish issue like in Hot Shelter.

For those having trouble, flick down on the analog stick right when the fish bites for an almost guaranteed hook. After that, just be patient and you'll eventually get it.

how do i get these 200g fish? Everytime i hooked one my controller would just refuse to work until 10 or 20 seconds later when the fish hits a wall or is really far, after that i try to get the fish closer but when hes REALLY close to big my controller dies and the fish runs away. Even worse is when the fish is too strong and if i try to bring him closer my stick will break and ill lose a life.
I already have all bigs upgrades, how do i get these fish?

One of the tricks i do to get the 2000g fish is that, once you get a hit, start flicking the fish left or right based on if the fish is at the left or right side of Big, forcing the fish to always be facing the front side of Big. Moving the fish left or right helps me a TON making the fish not be able to move while i'm slowly reeling it in.

Keep doing that and you should eventually get the fish, at least this is my strategy and has always worked.

Posted it under the general comments of the game, but as this achievement got the most interactions in regards to fishing, thought it be of use for y'all:

To everyone struggling with the Big-Fishing-Missions AND using the DC-HD 60FPS-Patch:

Turn it off or revert to the Original ROM (or at least a non 60FPS-Patch) for these trials.

TLDR explanation: The lower the framerate, the easier the fish are to reel in.

I've been looking into it and apparently the higher the framerate, the harder the fish are to reel in. The original statement comes from Neanderthal_Knight on Steam for the DX Version (all credits to him) and seeing that I've been losing my mind over how impossible those fish were to reel in, I looked it up.

The original statement from him:

"Something about fish AI is tied to the frame rate.
at 60 fps catching a 2000g fish is impossible,
locked at 15 it's trivial"

And I can 100% confirm that. I've been fishing for 3+ hours on the 60FPS-version and damn near lost my mind. After I reverted to the original version (Rev A), it took me like a minute or two.

To sum it up: REVERT TO THE OG-VERSION IF YOU USE THE 60FPS ONE FOR BIG / FISHING!!!
