This was the achievement from my spreadsheet that I was least expecting to be here lolI thought it would be pretty boring but it can be actually difficult, a lot of times I took damage from the opponent for not being careful enough. But It should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

you can also do it on mission 3 of any stage. its the lost chao mission and a goal ring at the end takes you back to the start, resetting all rings on the stage [but keeping the ring counter]. so you can just do this on city escape or some other stage if you want.

you should be able to get at least 200 rings if not more with 1 cycle of city escape, so like 4 runs should be enough. may take slightly longer, but is also safer that way.

do city escape mission 3 for this, you get opportunities for shields about 3 times a cycle so the only thing you need to worry about is falling out of bounds

while all of those above are good solutions and easy to do, it is also easy to do this with the final sonic/shadow boss fights, which is how i did it.

As illypad mentioned, it's easy to do this on the Sonic and Shadow fight. Just don't attack the boss as it will initiate the fight. I did this against Shadow and he only stayed on the right side. I just farmed the rings off of the left and middle until it pops
