Some item's both need to be found and given to you (such as snore, sunny day and rain dance) I found this list to be more helpful.

I did it all. Got all of them an rechecked each on 3 times. To make sure. counter says 39/40. Can't figure what I'm missing other then Psychup. I have all 1-50. I bought the department store ones 4 times and the casino 5 times. So i have 5+ of 02, 08, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 25, 32, 33, 37, 41, and 48. I dont know what im missing

How many copies of snore, sunny day and rain dance do you have? I think you need 2 of each one?

Just to let people know, you DON'T need to have TM09 (Psych Up) for this achievement. You just need to collect the other 49 TM's and the 7 HM's.

Another thing that needs pointing out, some of these TM's you need to get multiple of the same ones, as far as I'm aware you need to get the following...

TM02 - Headbutt (2x) - Ilex Forest, Goldrenrod Department Store
TM08 - Rock Smash (2x) - Route 36, Goldenrod Department Store
TM10 - Hidden Power (2x) - Lake of Rage, Celadon Department Store
TM11 - Sunny Day (2x) - Celadon Department Store, Goldenrod Radio Tower
TM13 - Snore (2x) - Route 39, Dark Cave
TM18 - Rain Dance (2x) - Slowpoke Well, Celadon Department Store
TM29 - Psychic (2x) - Saffron City, Celadon Department Store
TM37 - Sandstorm (2x) - Route 27, Celadon Department Store
TM47 - Steel Wing (2x) - Route 28, Rock Tunnel

I also had 2 of the following TM's in my bag but I'm not sure if I accidentally bought these 2x.. I can't find any websites that suggest you need these 2x elsewhere so this may of just been a mistake on my part but I'll list them here just incase.

TM33 - Ice Punch - Goldenrod Department Store
TM41 - Thunderpunch - Goldenrod Department Store
TM48 - Fire Punch - Goldenrod Department Store

Also if you've used a TM on a Pokemon and you no longer have it in your bag, it doesn't matter the achievement will still pop, I had used a few on my playthrough and it didn't affect anything.

Alright, after a long time i figured it all out. 1. TMs you "buy" from the Shopping centers or buying through game corner "coins" "WONT COUNT". 2. Only Tms found (except Solar Beam, that didnt count for me) count. 3. Only Tms from NPCs count. 4. I did NOT need any Item "2x times". 5. The ONLY exception is "Snore" which counted 2x so cure Miltank and go Dark Cave (This one was the last and triggered my achievement).

Example: I had 39/40 and bought all Tms left in the shops and GC with coins & nothing happened. Then I got "Frustration" from the Goldenrod city lady aand Nothing happened. As soon as i cured Miltank it worked.

This achievement appears to be missable. I took the Flower Mail off of Kenya and sold it. I don't believe it's possible for me to get Nightmare anymore.

talking about this cheevo is really frustrating. i got 39/40 just like you. and I messaged the developer, but they didn't bother to reply at all. but now I've found the reason. this time, i asked myself, do i have to start over again? but actually, i missed out on getting tm11 sunny day at the golden rod radio tower with the girl with green hair on the 3rd floor. searching for the answer took me an hour.

Unfortunate I got very confused by all these comments here.

The way it really works:

- You don't need to buy any TMs in the Game Center or Stores.
- only NPC gifts and collectable TMs counting

There are a few items you need to collect twice:

- TM13 "Snore" MooMoo Farm Quest (give berrys) + Dark Cave collectable
- TM47 "Steel Wing" on Route 28 + Rock Tunnel

The missable is the Randy Quest for the TM50 "Nightmare". Just get the Spearow with the mail, and give it to the guy next to Violet City (before the Dark Cave).

so I've got a question, when i first got to goldenrod i went and got return off the women in the store straight away because my starter had max happiness, I've now beat the game and doing some cleanup went back to get the frustration tm and she isn't there anymore? anyone know how to get her to come back or have i missed out on frustration?
