Beat this with 2 Level 16 Beedrills and 1 Level 16 Ledyba with the move Flash. Make sure you have Ledyba out before Scyther then use Supersonic and Flash to make Fury Cutter less deadly. Then switch between the two beedrills to finish it off. It helps if you have one at Level 15 because the Scyther gives enough experience to one Pokemon to level it up at that point.

I've been trying to do these mono type achievements without repeating any Pokemon. In this case used Beedrill, Paras, and Ledyba. Took a couple tries because Ledyba is pretty terrible and Bugsy's Scyther hits like a truck.

Recommend using Paras to poison Scyther before ultimately using Beedrill to take Scyther down.

This is the most easy of those gym challenges, I win it using a Beedrill LV 15 and I used Harden, focus energy and only needed to use one potion. Beedrill poisoned Scyther in the first shot.

Had a tough time with Fury Cutter here.
I used a Lv16 Beedrill, taught her Swift and equipped her with a Berry.
Used a X-Attack and a couple of X-Defends before Kakuna fainted, Stringshotted Scyther once so Beedrill could attack first, then Swifted all the way to victory.

Super easy, 1 lvl 15 beedrill holding a berry. harden 4-5 times on metapod then just use fury attack til you win.

can heracross be used to get this? iirc you can get a heracross by headbutting the trees by the pokemon center on the way to the cave to get this town. normally you get headbutt in ilex forest but slowpoke learns headbutt at level 32 and can be caught in slowpoke well. so its possible to get a heracross before this gym and its a bug type.

One Heracross can solo it with ease, just spamming Horn Attack.

Only a Beedril of Lv.15 was enough!
Use max harden @ Metapod (until the stats don't increase anymore)
Then use Focus Energy!
And wipe Metapod & Kakuna out!
Once Syther enter do poisonsting and pray that he is poisoned asap!

After about 4 - 5 turns he will one shot you!
So you gotta hope he misses and kill him before he can do 4 or 5 times Fury Cutter.

Damn that attack hits like a truck indeedy

Beedrill soloed him for me. Like others said, max Harden, then poison Scyther and Fury Attack until it goes down. If you get favorable accuracy luck from Fury Cutter, you don't even need to heal.

Não é complicado, com um Beedrill e um Ledyba é possível fazer, com o Beedrill use Harden até o máximo contra o metapod e fique spamando Poison Sting no metapod e Scyther e tackle no kakuna, além de contar com a sorte para envenena ambos

Beat using a lvl 15 beedril & lvl 14 paras
I know most of the above comments suggest poisoning Scyther, but with how much damage he does, I actually found it easier to use Paras' Stun Spore to paralyze him
