Apparently(because I just did it) you can screw up the menu in the first turn and still get this cheevo if you back out of the actions and do it properly

Haven't done this yet, but I will definitely be unbinding a/b/x/y and setting A to L instead.

You can do everything in the entire game with the L-button, D-pad, and Select button... except ring the bell when riding the bike. For many activities, it's recommended to try the L-button first as you spend less time in the menu selecting actions.
