If you're having issues getting this one in retroarch, go into settings > latency > run-ahead to reduce latency > switch to 'on' > change 'number of frames to run-ahead' to 12 (or whatever the max is). I spent a good 30 minutes trying to beat level 3 until I changed this latency setting. Got it first try after adjusting these latency settings! Actually found this tip in the comments section of the Kusanagi Expert achievement for Kirby Super Star :)

Can confirm that the pattern is identical after quitting the sub-game and re-entering. Use the sparkles to help gauge your timing.

First try using Casperboots suggestion. What a champion. I'll be using this for games that don't required a lot of fast forwarding in the future. Thanks! (FF gets slower using runahead)
