in my childhood I could quick draw within 01 to 08 time units regularly on a CRT television and without practicing a lot, but simply couldn't get better than 12 on dozens of tries when going for this achievement. Only after playing with the latency settings in RetroArch did I win this mini-game.

yeah, counting is a good solution, since if you soft reset the time it takes to start the timer is always the same for the 5 opponents, I have tested and depending on the core you use the rng when soft resetting is different, I used FCEUmm, I memorized the time of each round and I got it in less than I expected, I hope this helps future players
