Does anyone have tips to find the Pokemon? I've gone through its dungeon 4 times now with an X-Ray Specs AND Friend Bow, still can't find it.

You just have to get lucky, i only saw one from a monster house, of course at a 0.9 percent recruit rate (+ whatever being level 100 and having a friend bow adds) makes this incredibly annoying and time consuming. Also having to have a music box...ugh.

Mew spawns specifically in Buried Relic, but only on floors 36-98. Mew is only recruitable if you have the Music Box in your inventory, which you obtain when getting all three items from the Regi bosses on floors 15, 25, and 35 (Subsequently, only the Regi's can be recruited with the item they drop or the music box).

Mew ONLY spawns with the Pokemon that are immediately spawned on entering a floor and will not spawn in further; the only exception to this is through Monster Houses. Mew will only spawn once. As mentioned above, Mew has a 0.9% recruitment chance, and you increase your rate of recruitment by being level 90-100 for a 24% boost and holding onto the Friend Bow for an extra 10%. You do get a smaller boost each ten level range from level 30 onwards, but it's still preferable to attempt this with a near max level Pokemon.

Optimal strategy is holding onto an X-Ray Spec, Friend Bow, and Tight Bow. Use the X-Ray Spec on each floor to see the Pokemon that spawned; keep track of which ones are from the start of the floor and find them. Like Ditto, Mew WILL NOT IMMEDIATELY TRANSFORM, so you can easily waste a lot of time waiting for a message revealing Mew's presence that will not come, meaning you have to search manually yourself. On being Transformed, one way to tell which 'Mon is Mew is if a non-flying Pokemon is walking on water tiles. Here is a detailed guide describing the process if needed:

Also, for the love of God, don't go in without the friend area for Mew. You NEED to buy Final Island to recruit Mew.

Follow the video linked (you must quicksave and reset the game (you don't need to reset on blue which is why he doesn't do it). You need articuno and escape orb, friend bow etc. On the floor he encounters mew you must also do the exact walking directions he does in the video to make sure mew will always want to join your team. super easy! hope this helps the grind :P
