This was tough! I don't know what I could have done to shave time off, but setting the CD read speed to x4 gave me just the right amount of time. I avoided all battles and thought my movement was good, but I was would miss the battle start by 1 sec.

Since the timer includes load times, having a faster read speed like if playing on the PS2 gave me the edge I needed to just make the achievement time goal.

The cheevo checks for the in-game timer, which stops while loading. It doesn't count load times. Incrementing read speed was a placebo :P And yeah, the timer is *really* tight, but definitely doable if move with above average precision.

Sorry but indeed loading time counts. I just tested it. When the timer starts if you mash X the timer is at 29:56 when you exit the screen and then at 52 when it loads the next one.

I reccomend using the x4 reading speed that another user suggested, as this was the only way I finally won this cheevo

i can confirm that the x4 speed is the best way to get this. i 1st did launch the fight at 27:37 with a x2 speed but didn't count (fighting starts at 27:16 with loadings) but with a x4 it launched the fight at 27:50 (counted as 27:36 with loadings)

If you're using retroarch, press F1 or your controller combo to get to the quick menu (L3 + R3 in my case) and scroll down to options, there you can change what you want. On RALib there's a button called "Core Options" in one of the drop down menus.

I am 90% sure that increasing the disc read speed to 4x does in fact cut the time down. Its possible I was just getting slightly quicker after the first 2 failed attempts but I think it's too big of a difference in my 3 times.

Had to switch my RetroArch core to Swanstation, as PCSX ReARMed did not have settings to set the Disc Read Speed and also counted time while in the loading screens.

I managed to do this after a couple of tries and planning the running route. You need to avoid all fights, click through all dialogues as quick as you can, run smoothly around corners or don't run into walls. You should get around 3-5 seconds to spare.

Okay, so apparently this doesn't stop tracking when the fight animation begins but rather when the two of them come onto the screen. I cleared all the dialogue at 27:33 and the fight screen began loading. But then when the fight actually began, it was 27:24. I'm going to try and adjust the disc read speed like everyone else was saying.

Let me say here that you do NOT need to play with emulator settings like disc read speed to get this achievement. All I did was go in the config menu and move the field message speed to max, did do the battle speed to the same in case. Also changed the movement to run instead of walking. Had about 2 or so seconds to spare when the battle loaded.
