Are you not allowed to use Shouryuken for this? Can you get this in the re-fights? Because it didn't pop for me.

Did this in the boss rush. Not sure if that affects boss patterns, but you should do these there anyway, since you'll have quick access to everyone, and won't have to go through an entire stage to reach a given boss.

Attacks:

Wire Grapple - Wire Sponge sends a wire into the wall, then grapples onto it. Can do this from the ground or midair, though the latter *seems* to be rare. Simply jump over or dash under.

Wire Spin - Wire Sponge spins a wire in front of him, acting as a shield. After a moment, he then whips the wire forward into the wall, like the Wire Grapple, though without grappling to the wall afterwards. Stay on the wall to avoid.

Thorn Seeds - Wire Sponge grapples the ceiling, then starts sending seeds at you from his flower. These seeds sprout into thorns upon hitting the ground or wall, which can be destroyed with a few normal buster shots or one charge shot. Note the trajectories, dodge if necessary, and destroy the sprouts ASAP so you can move around freely.

Lightning Rod - Wire Sponge stops for a moment, becoming immune to damage, then summons lightning bolts. Stay in the corner opposite him, it won't reach you. If he uses this attack from the middle of the screen... Good luck. But this attack is rare, so you likely won't need to worry about it.

@WildWolfOfMibu You can do this in the boss rush, but I'd be surprised if the secret technique is allowed. That's probably why you didn't get it.
