You actually should use the big Mario and run until the end jumping in the spike to squeeze through the end while you lose health

I found it easier actually using small Mario (not Mini). He can begin running through the section quicker as he can enter while its only 1 block height, while big Mario has to wait for the opening to be 2 blocks height.

I agree about using Small Mario instead of the other forms. If you jump into the side of the spike precisely enough, Mario kind of sticks to the leftmost pixel of the ground (it’s the best way I can describe it) and you can begin running right immediately when the wall begins to go up, rather than having to jump up, into the opening gap, which saves a surprising amount of time (for me, at least.)

The way I did it, Small Mario barely makes it, and kind of clips the spike, but he doesn’t take damage.

I used small Mario too
