@wolfman1983 Yup. Knew it was going to be a derp answer. That was it. Apparently I had my video driver set to Vulkan. Now both of the games that were crashing are not. Although now I have to configure some settings because things aren't running as smooth as they once were and I have popping sound and stutters on occasion.

But that's a configuration problem I can probably fix versus retroarch crashing.
Anyway, thanks a bunch.

May I suggest turning on hard GPU Synch turned on and run ahead first instance turned on NOT the second though. As for the popping sound try using direct X sound audio driver and crystallize audio sound plugin for better sound.

Just wanted to say thank you to all the people working on this.

Also, the first post mentions real CD's - does that mean I'll be able to just stick my old PS1 disc in my PC drive and play it from there on the emulator? That'd be pretty cool.

I don't know what is Ralibretro, and didn't find this Beetle core in the github, I used only the normal emulators from Downloads page. Can anyone help me with this?

the beetlecore is also called mednafenpsx and it come in 2 variants mednafenpsx(HW) this one use your systems hardware you can make ps1 games look great using this core but it is the most resource demanding. The other variant is mednafenpsx were it use just software and is less demanding than the hardware version. https://docs.libretro.com/library/beetle_psx_hw/

Can someone tell me how to get PS1 games play on RAlibretro with no crackling sound ?

I'm using the Beetlecore but can't find any option related to the sound.

@psychosteve if you are trying to use retroarch for general use (I.E not developing achievements) I suggest just going with the latest nightly build of RA as it has more options too make emulation better.

The raspberry Pi core lr-pcsx-rearmed has not yet implemented cheevos so far, only on Pc and Android. The core bettle is heavy on him.

Hello, I have a little problem: When I run a game PS1 with the emulator it says: "Firmware is missing: scph5501.bin" .... Do you know where this problem can come from? Thank you in advance for your answers :)
