List is done as far as I'm taking it, its the most basic baseball game out there and I can't think of much missing

*The only thing I'm missing is a demo blocker currently

Hey there. fyi, I got achievement "Three and Out" when the cpu pitched an inning w/o giving up a run.

EDIT -- I also got achievement "G-reat", however I lost the game as team D, the cpu won as team Y. All other achievements I received worked fine! .....hmm my teams are A C D P R Y, where on the achievement list it's C D G S T W, different versions of rom I suppose. mine is (U) [!]

EDIT 2 -- After looking at the different initials for each version I decided to see if either were modeled after actual teams of the time (1984ish). The version I'm using has many similarities to the 1984 baseball season, as far as initial/jersey color combos go.

A - Athletics aka the A's (Oakland)
C - Cardinals (St. Louis)
D - Dodgers (Los Angeles)
P - Phillies (Philadelphia)
R - Royals (Kansas City)
Y - Yankees (New York)

The jerseys are quite similar to the ones these teams wore at the time. I don't know if this info will help or not lol, but it was fun to find out!

peace

Wow! That's some fine research you've done there ! Nice work :)

I wonder if it's worth splitting off the ROMs into seperate games? Or blocking one of the versions from being used by assigning it to a "DO NOT USE" title?

Edit: looks like you're right : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_(1983_video_game)#Gameplay

@Sunny: I'll fix three and out thats an easy fix.

The different teams is crazy o_o. CDGSTW is what was used on E/J apparently while U uses those teams you posted o_O. Even on NES Remix its CDGSTW which is bizarre. I don't know what to do about this unless we split into two versions

@Scott: i'm not sure how'd we split them but there could be a lot of differences between the two releases and maybe we should and I'd drop this release to 200 and the U version would also max at 200?

I'm such a nerd lol, the wiki had the teams but I felt like being a detective I guess.

If it's possible, could you have the achievements be for both versions' teams? Like 'win a game with team A (US) or C (JP)', 'win a game with team C (US) or D (JP)' etc? But like I said, I got the achievement 'G-reat' when I lost the game, so I dunno if that would be possible.

Now that I know I was playing against the yankees, I'm gonna play against another team and hope they don't score 11 runs on me! Plus I hate the dodgers so I was mad at myself when I realized I was playing as them haha.

EDIT -- I just finished another game. I won as team A, beating team P. No achievement was awarded.

see ya

How Can I get the Achievement "Opting out" ?

Posted: 03 May, 2016 04:00
Oh I get it ^^

I demoted the bugged achievements almost 4 years ago, some got repromoted. The entire set is up for grabs to be submitted to the RA Council of Doom. There are a ton of versions and there isn't a lot to go off of for a creative set being a launch NES game. Godspeed.

Here's some suggestions. If someone uses them, great, if not, maybe someday I'll learn how to make achievements and make this a full set. I've featured a name, description, and point value for all my achievement ideas.

Just one base: Hit a single (1)

A little further: Hit a double (1)

So close I can taste it: Hit a triple (2)

Homeward Bound: Hit a home run (5)

All your base are belong to us.: Load all 3 bases with your team's players. (5)

Screw you: Throw a screwball (1)

Like a mustache: Throw a curveball (1)

Supersonic speed: Throw a fastball (1)

Baited: Throw a ball (1)

Smack my screw: Hit a screwball and get on base (1)

Like hitting pasta: Hit a curveball and get on base (1)

Punching Sonic in the face: Hit a fastball and get on base (1)

Three strikes and you're out: Strikeout your opponent (2)

The big four: Earn 4 points with one hit (10)

Victory!!: Win a game (5)

Domination: Win a game with at least 20 points (15)

Shattered: Win a game while not letting the other team score a single point (15)

The worst opponents ever: Win a game with at least 15 points while not letting the other team score a single point (25)

Game's already over: Earn 5 points in the first inning (10)

Record-shattering skills: Score at least 37 points in one game (20)

Stop that.: Seriously, it's annoying. (1) [The badge would be a hint for this; throw 10 balls at either first, second or third base in a row.]
