RAQUASI88 is now available on the Download page with support for PC-8001, PC-8801 and derivative systems.
For usage information (e.g. BIOS naming and location), consult QUICK-START.EN.TXT in the "document" directory.

On controls
Most games require a keypad for movement. If you do not have a keypad, you can use the arrow keys by setting a menu option through Setting->Cursor Key->As Ten-key.

On BIOS
The MKII SR is compatible with most titles, so consider using that for best results.

On configuration
Default settings strike a balance between compatibility and performance, but for optimal compatibility at the cost of speed, set the following options in the F12 menu:
Reset -> BASIC Mode: N88 V1H (V2 if you mostly play V2 games, but V1 games won't tell you that you are running in the wrong mode if you try to launch them in V2, while V2 games will usually display a message if you need to launch in V2 mode)
Reset -> CPU Clock: 4MHz (most PC-88 systems until late models are 4MHz only, and many titles assume 4MHz)
CPU -> Sub-CPU Mode: 2 (Always run both CPUs)
CPU -> FDC Wait: On
CPU -> Memory Wait: On

For non-Windows users
It should be able to run under WINE (tested under Debian), but directory mapping has issues, so the subdirectories (DISK, ROM, SAVE, etc.) must be placed in the user's home (e.g. /home/user) rather than inside the RAQUASI88 directory. I also had issues with audio output personally, which could be due to missing drivers, WINE prefix configuration, etc., so please report your results if possible.

On which files/versions of games to use
Consult the forum threads of individual titles in order to make sure that you are using a supported rip, as some sets contain known bad dumps.

For development
Only disks inserted into drive 1 need to be linked. Data disks or user disks that are only inserted in drive 2 are not needed.

The following titles have complete sets ready as of now and will be available as soon as their authors promote them:

Is there any way to redefine keys? Because playing with cursor keys sucks...;)

There is virtual joystick support, and key remapping, but I do not know if the latter works (I could not get it working).

Tks for the keys feedback. I tried to define other keys (not arrows...) but with no success and playing like this is VERY annoying...

Tks again and keep up the good work!

RA rules!

You're thinking of 46 Okunen Monogatari, which was on PC-9800.

I feel so stupid, but the emulator apparently doesn't recognize my keyboard inputs aside from F12 (and if I reset with a d88 loaded, it just says "HALT").
Are there preliminary things to do with BIOSes, or am I doing something wrong?

Default (pseudo) BIOS does not include N88 BASIC and cannot boot all disks. Replace with standard BIOS (mkIISR or equivalent for best compatibility).

Ok, so I just replaced the BIOS file with mkIISR. The "N80_3" file renamed as "N88" (it's the only way I managed to make it work).
Keyboard started working, but the emulator gives me "Unprintable error" and commands don't work... it just gives me an "Ok".
I'm so sorry for being this dumb, but I've never been handy with old machines.

I doubt that's the right file name. It sounds like extension ROM. You will have to figure out what files map to the right names as listed in the quick-start guide.
