Ideas off the top of my head:
highest metal ranks
beating the dump truck stage
time trials for certain stages (I vaguely remember the game tracking you time?)
deathless run of the main stages

EDIT, 14 February 2018 (updated 28Feb2018). The set used is Blast Corps 1.1 (US). This is to prevent "cheating" by the Z-Trigger glitch. It might also be called "Rev. A" depending on your source.
Currently three MD5 are linked to this set. I can only guarantee full functionality with the one I used, use the others at your own discretion!
c1cba39e01bb3cd76a1631ae906ebe38 - used by me
5875FC73069077C93E214233B60F0BDC - seems to be the same but with different MD5 calculation (thanks to an user who sent me a PM for figuring this out)
FD169651B23B5424C2D4CB5D9AF81FC3 - other linked one, may or may not work fully - or may be the same again with a different calculation, who knows...
If you have trouble with achievements, please make sure you have the correct MD5 and in addition use the Glide64 plugin, as it apparently changes RAM addresses. In RAP64, you can right-click the file in the list and see its properties to see the MD5.
Achievements checklist (developer):

Gained access to the other planets by having gold everywhere [x] 50
Have Gold on every mission again, thus finishing the story [x] 20
250 points - 12 achievements?
Get platinum in levels (make 11 1evel sets - more if necessary)
Level sets: (175 currently)
Easy - 10 [x]
Medium - 20 [x]
Hard - 30 [x]
Basics of vehicles - 10 [x]
Pacman - 10 [x]

Also, I found public domain pictures for most achievements, and ingame graphics for the rest.
EDIT: Set is finished, enjoy!

- Find all scientists (trigger found, but changes sometimes)

Since you avoid the nuclear catastrophe when you have all scientists plus hard levels, that would be redundant IMO.
Also you didn't find the correct trigger.

100 percent guide (mostly, as the Z-Trigger glitch will not work in version 1.1 which was used for the set)
Pressing A when the green light first lights up allows you to boost in most vehicles.

For those having trouble, it's on emuparadise as "Rev A".
So the first achievement is for clearing the first level right? Cus it failed to unlock twice now.
Edit - It MAY be that my emulator isn't communicating with the server. I had a problem reporting this from the emulator itself, it also loads the achievement set twice for some reason.
If it helps, I'm using RAP64 version 54, is it the wrong one?
I also tried doperoms to be sure, same problems. When I try to report from the emulator, it says "Error Code 0"

Please try the Glide64 plugins if you have issues with achievements. They helped for Starcraft 64, so the same issue could be here.
