I started working on a set for this, if anyone has ideas for specific achievements feel free to let me know.
[EDIT: Not working on it at the moment, feel free to take over if you're interested. I might get around to it eventually if no one else does]

Some suggestions for achievements...
A good number of story related/ boss defeated achievements
A few achievements for collecting the 45 Fortune Dolls
An achievement for locating the 'Hidden Store'
An achievement(s) for finding Extra Lives
An achievement for listening to the sound test for 30 minutes

I would like to give this a shot as my first attempt at creating achievements,
Edit:Ok, now claiming this one!
I was thinking about the following:
Story progression: Visiting new cities for the first time (or prefectures), defeating bosses. Achievements for finding new party members, and finding weapons, and gaining abilities. Beating the game of-course.
Collection: The 45 fortune dolls. 4 achievements for every 10 silver dolls, and 1 for every gold one (there are 5). Possibly 1 for "every fortune doll" too? Although that would reward 2 achievements at the same time on the last pick-up.
Some money collecting ones, very easy to grind, like have exactly 777 Ryo. And some high number that isn't too dependent on insane grinding.
Maybe: "Buy one of every armour in the game", "sleep at every inn"
Hidden store, as mentioned by GAMERJET,
Not a fan of the 30 minute sound test one, even though I adore the soundtrack myself. That's just a pointless time waster.
Then we have the boss-rush mode.
Beat (non-impact) bosses without taking damage (should protection be ok? (hat = 3 shots protection, armour = 3+ enemy hits protection)). A bit easy if protection is ok, but it *is* part of the game.
Edit: I am working on a more specified list of achievements, will post here in a new post when I've organized them a bit. A first rough draft, I mean. Happy to receive any comments and suggestions!

Progress is going great :)
I have 23 achievements completely done so far.
2 more that needs testing.
Then 12 more planned in one category.
1 grind achievement (nothing too grindy though).
4 secrets to discover.
1 "no health upgrade" challenge.
And then a few "visit places that exist in real life" ones.

Sounds great! Looking forward to the set.

I submit the set for review just now, so hopefully it'll be available within a few days or so :)

This might not make any sense since the achievements aren't live yet, but here's some info regarding missable achievements:
Achievements regarding boss fights: Remember to save the game right before the boss (go outside the dungeon and save at the sign). Change character BEFORE the boss room for applicable achievements.
Regarding the mini-game one: if you get hit - die and try again. You can't try again if you beat the mini-game!
About the rest: at one point towards the end of the game you won't be able to backtrack. The game will ask you if you are sure, and confirm. So make sure you've done everything you need to do before progressing.
There is a save point right before the final boss (after a cut scene), and I'm not sure if you are able to go back in the last area to get the last stuff if you save there.
You can get everything in two playthroughs (once collecting everything, once doing a 5 heart run).
Maybe this should be added to the first post? (later when they are approved).

How long does it usually take for achievements to go live? I'm hot to get this one started!

A jr-dev's set will go live once it's reviewed and approved. A handful of reviewers were slammed with the recent Devember event, but we're getting freed up a bit now that it's over. This one is 2nd in the queue, so it won't be much longer :)

Yeah, this was my very first set, so maybe it'll take a good while for the poor souls reviewing it :P I hope I didn't screw up all too much though.

It's released, for those of you waiting :)
