The Story Mode achievements (blue or purple backgrounds) can only be collected in the single-player Story Mode. The file used doesn't matter.

The board achievements (orange backgrounds) can be earned with any number of players.

The Mini-Game achievements (green backgrounds) are a mix of both. Some can only be earned with one human, while others don't have any restrictions.

One human only:

I noticed that the leaderboards update whether you win or lose. The CPU's time is recorded if you lose. Also, 1v1 minigame leaderboards activate and update even if you're not playing, like with 2 CPUs.

Unfortunately with the limitations of RA leaderboards there isn't much that can be done about this. It's safe to assume, though, that the highest score recorded will be better than a Super Hard CPU.

I have some complaints about

The given time limit of 1 minute and 30 seconds is insane, or maybe impossible with how this set makes you play though the game. It has you play once on medium or higher for S-Ranks, than once on super hard. But to unlock super hard you need to beat it on hard, so naturally S-Ranking though Hard to minimize playthoughs is what everyone will probably do.

Now here's the problem. The final bosses hp depends on the difficulty. He has 3 on Easy, 6 on Normal, and 9 on Hard and above. Since the set would make players play through the Hard then Super hard modes, and the Minigame room is always the Hard version, The player would only ever see him at his worst.

That time limit of 1 min 30 sec is almost frame perfect on Hard and Super Hard, which are the only modes that most players will ever fight him in due to how the set is set up. That is, unless a 20 point achievement is worth an entire playthough to itself.

For the reasons above, I think that changing the time limit to 2 min would be much better, as that is the time required to S-Rank the fight, which is possible on any difficulty and making it fit into the other S-Rank achievements.

1. S-ranking the fight is 1'45"00, not 2 minutes.

2. The time was intended for the Hard/Super Hard variant, times submitted from Easy or Normal story mode are specifically not allowed by the cheev.

My best time is a bit more than 1'27"00, certainly not frame perfect if there are whole seconds worth of optimization.

The achievement was made with the hard difficulty in mind, I'm pretty sure it's only earnable through the minigame room and if it could be obtained on lower difficulties would be the flaw in need of correcting.

It's true that it doesn't match the S-Rank time, but the S-Rank time is so high it's hardly an achievement. The current balance is good since it's something to aspire to, and is challenging even with a decent knowledge of how the battle works.

I'm sorry, my bad. When playing though the game, I got 2 minutes, 6 seconds and got an A rank. I just assumed to was 2 minutes. Now that I think of it, I have no idea why I thought that.

I was saying it was "frame perfect" because a TAS of Super Hard story mode does this fight in 1'25"69 and it did things like jumping and throwing a star to hit him the frame he started decending. Not to mention that (according to the World records for Hard and Super Hard get over 2 minutes in there fights. It was a logical conclusion to draw, but I never actually attempted it more than like, 3 times.

I'm sorry if I sounded like a jerk, I'm not! I promise!

The WR times are like that because no one would be stupid enough to risk throwing away several hours of effort just to save a few seconds at the end.

No matter how much I mash the A button, I can't seem to be able to spin Bowser fast enough for the achievement. I'm not sure if this is the emulator itself , the plugin I'm using or the Switch Pro Controller I'm using for this that's causing this problem. Any recommendations?
