In regards to the 100 Coins on Midas achievement.

The original achievement was for 100 coins, then got lowered to 90 and a leaderboard got put in. Might be worth looking into who got the trophy before it was lowered and having it be manually unlocked since they may not show on the leaderboard.

I don't like the 100 jumps achievement but I'm ok with it existing. It's clear we just have different ideologies of what makes a "good achievement". One side prioritizes absolute completion and the other (mine) prioritizes completion as long as it isn't disproportionately tedious or unfun. I probably won't go for this, but I've never been one to go for all the korok seeds in breath of the wild either. I'm sure other people will enjoy it.

I would like to suggest adding an achievment for the apprentice turning into the 4th through 7th snifit, and the 8th snifit apprentice moving to grate guy's casino, since nobody seems to know about these events, involving the apprentice's training at booster pass.

Another achievement idea

Where's my Valentina?
Find Valentina after defeating her in Nimbus Land.

She's at the top of Booster's Tower.

The only problem with the 100 jumps achievement is the disparity in difficulty between emulators and original hardware. Variable framerate on emulators is why speedrunners almost exclusively use original hardware for runs using the Super Suit route. I think it's a valid consideration to keep in mind when developing achievements for a site where everyone is using an emulator.

Rescore Plan: 50>100 because it's insanely hard and takes several hours to do for quite a lot of people

While I do see the argument for including the 100 super jumps achievement, as it's related to an in-game reward, I guess my complaint mostly lies with the hardware. Back in the day, almost all Super Mario RPG gameplay would be using the same Super Nintendo hardware on CRT TVs where the lag was basically nonexistent. All fault would fall on the user for mistiming. This is most certainly not the case today for emulators and the various systems that are running the emulators. Yes, this difference is extremely minimal, but for the last ~87 jumps, we're talking 3 FRAMES TO INPUT (50 milliseconds), so that certainly can play a part. I know people will say "look at all these people that already got it", but I feel like the line can be drawn somewhere given the hardware/software differences between gaming eras.

I don't advocate for challenging achievements to be removed just because. On games like Super Mario 64, I didn't really think twice about the all-coin challenges. Yes, they were very difficult, but there were multiple ways to go about them and at different pacings. They were very reasonable, despite not even being related to any rewards (other than seeing your max coin number on the pause screen). On Super Mario World, a lot of people would see the mini Mario achievements as complete BS. It took a disgusting amount of deaths, but you had the benefit of farming unlimited 1-ups beforehand, and each level didn't require pixel perfect precision. You could combine different jumping heights and different speeds to tackle each level. Even on Smash 64, the achievement to complete very hard with 1 stock was basically RNG. Again, there was no in-game reward tied to it, but it gave enough leeway with being able to test different characters and strategies. I guess my point is that this achievement in particular struck different in a WTF way. I'm interested to hear other people's responses.
